Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has issued a challenge to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to provide an explanation for why John Dramani Mahama was unable to achieve in his capacity as Vice President what he went on to accomplish in his capacity as President.
Mr. Nkansah urged the NDC to provide clarification on this matter in a Facebook post on Monday, August 12, before stepping up his pressure on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to carry out his plans while he is still serving in that capacity.
Mr. Nkansah emphasized that Mahama was only able to implement his policy proposals after winning the presidency, and that he was unable to make substantial progress toward them while serving as vice president.
He questioned the validity of the NDC’s recent criticism of Dr. Bawumia and advised the Vice President to move forward with his plans instead of holding off till after he might be elected President.
The NDC has continuously criticized Dr. Bawumia over the years, pressing him to take urgent action to better the lives of Ghanaians by carrying out his vice presidential programs and promises rather than waiting to run for president.
They contend that in order to show his dedication and leadership, Bawumia needs to act now.
Mr. Nkansah, however, maintains that the NDC should hold off on pressing Dr. Bawumia to carry out his plans until they have a sufficient explanation for Mahama’s record as vice president.
“Since the NDC wants Dr Bawumia to implement all his plans now, can they tell us why John Mahama didn’t do the things he did as President when he was Vice President?” he quizzed.
