A team of technical directors led by Dr Bryan Acheampong, the Ag Chief Director, Mr Paul Siameh of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has visited the National Petroleum Authority’s (NPA) Network Operation Centre (NOC) to learn about its functioning and achievements.
The NOC is a centralized location for monitoring and managing computer, telecommunication, or satellite network systems 24/7. It helps identify potential issues and maintain the security of the NPA’s IT system and data.
Inspired by this, under the PFJ Phase II, MoFA plans to develop a digitalized platform to manage, track, and report on operations for the Planting for Food and Jobs 2.0 (PFJ 2.0) initiative.
PFJ 2.0 aims to enhance agriculture development, and food security, and create job opportunities in Ghana.
The program focuses on increasing agricultural productivity, promoting modern farming techniques, and technological advancements.
It also encourages employment opportunities, better market access for farmers, climate-smart agricultural practices, rural development, and strengthening policy and institutional frameworks.
This initiative builds upon the successes of the first phase, which focused on increasing agricultural productivity, creating employment opportunities, and improving the livelihood of smallholder farmers.
