Alex Mould, Gavivina will pay ¢5m as bail bond for Sedinam Tamakloe – Deputy AG

Alex Kofi Mensah Mould, the former CEO of GNPC, is facing more legal issues as a result of his involvement in providing a surety for the troubled former CEO of MASLOC, Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, who was found guilty of stealing.

The Attorney General’s office is now pursuing Mould and well-known actor Gavivina Tamakloe, who was formerly with the National Theatre, as a result of this development.

The reason for the Attorney General’s pursuit is that after Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu was sentenced and the accused failed to show up for court, the state filed a request to retrieve the GHS5 million bail bond that Mould and Tamakloe had guaranteed.

The state’s intention to hold Mould and Tamakloe liable for the bail amount due as a result of Sedinam Tamakloe’s ongoing absence from court proceedings was confirmed by Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah. “Actor Gavivina Tamakloe and Alex Mould and another will have to pay GHC5m bail for the woman because she refused to present herself even after being jailed,” Tuah-Yeboah asserted forcefully during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program.

They stood in for Sedinam, and we are determined to retrieve that amount for the state.”

The circumstance highlights the possible legal consequences that face those who act as sureties for defendants who disrespect the law.
