Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has has warned Ghanaians to exercise caution in the wake of John Mahama’s comeback.
Ghanaians would suffer worse if former President John Dramani Mahama returns to power after the 2024 elections, according to the governance expert.
He claims that because the former president’s name conjures up horrible memories, Ghanaians should become terrified at the mere mention of him.
He asserts that if John Mahama is given another chance to run the country, he has nothing innovative to offer and that Ghanaians should be cautious and avoid harboring such ideas.
“We have witnessed this man run our nation for 5 years. If you have the chance, I have no doubt that you will take advantage of it and do your best. We can see where he took this economy and where he left it in the political annals of this nation when there were no covid, no global difficulties, and everything was pretty much on a silver platter for him,” Palgrave Boakye-Danquah exclusively on Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9.
“So when John Mahama is mentioned, it causes us all to panic because I don’t think Ghanaians are ready to return to the time they took us, which was roughly from Midway 2012 to 2016, so it’s not an option,” he added.
Palgrave Boakye-Danquah said, the economy under the former president was left in shambles even though there were no external challenges like it is today.
