Mark Owen Woyongo, a former Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central and Minister of Defense, has passed away.
In a statement on Thursday, January 18, the head of the Woyongo Family, Mr. Awini Zinge, confirmed the death. Mr. Woyongo was 74years.
The former Upper East Regional Minister passed away on Wednesday, January 17, at the Bank of Ghana Hospital in Accra after a prolonged illness.
From 2012 until 2016, Mark Woyongo served as the Navrongo Central MP. In December 2016, he declared his retirement from politics and declared he would never run for office again.
In 2009, the late President John Evans Atta Mills named him the Upper East Regional Minister in his administration.
