The Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Daniela d’Orlandi has paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Commodore Maxwell Arhen.
The visit aims to strengthen the bilateral cooperation, seek support and advice on an upcoming exercise between the Italian Navy and the Ghana Navy. According to the Ambassador, Italy considers Ghana as a reliable ally in security at strategic and operational levels emphasizing that collaborating with Ghana was imperative.
Ambassador Daniela d’Orlandi announced the visit of an Italian Warship in April this year as part of measures to cement the bilateral relationship between the two countries. She expressed her country’s willingness to cooperate with Ghana in the areas of Defence and Security.
The FOC thanked the Ambassador for the visit and for upholding the relationship that existed between the two countries and assured the Ambassador of the Ghana Navy’s support in the defence and security cooperation.
The Ambassador was accompanied by the Italian Defence Attaché to Ghana, Colonel David Rosellini. Also present at the meeting was the Command Operations, ENC, Captain Stephen Asante.
