The newly elected Unit Committee Members of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly(AMA) have been sworn into office by Her Ladyship Dr Bridget Kafui Anthonio-Apedzi, a Justice of the High Court, pledging to serve their communities diligently and uphold the principles of good governance.
The Unit Committee Members numbering 100, took their oaths of office and secrecy on Thursday at the Accra City Hall in the presence of dignitaries, community leaders, and residents.
Addressing the gathering, the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Elizabeth Kwatsoe Sackey commended the newly elected members for their commitment to public service. He reminded them of the weight of the responsibility entrusted to them.
She highlighted the significance of the event as part of the decentralisation framework, emphasising the crucial role of unit committees in complementing the work of the councils at the grassroots level.
